Understand Global Flashpoints in Minutes
The world moves fast. Don't miss a beat.
About Us
Regional and global conflicts shape the lives of millions, if not billions, of people. Power struggles extend far beyond diplomatic negotiations, driving up the cost of food and fuel, redrawing borders, and reshaping the places we call home. At the heart of these conflicts is not simply the contest for territory, but the struggle to define it. These disputes are driven by history, resources, strategy, and identity, and they play out in places as varied as the South China Sea, Western Sahara, the Kuril Islands, the Falklands, the Essequibo region, and Gibraltar. Energy and natural resources often heighten the stakes: oil, gas, gold, and other resources fuel local and regional economies, while also shaping global alliances and rivalries.
GeoPulse is a multidisciplinary, forward-looking lab created to deepen understanding of these contested arenas and to explore practical, peaceful pathways toward resolution. Too often, existing approaches to conflict resolution fall short. We place a strong emphasis on Southeast Asia—the region we call home—while recognizing that in today's interconnected world, dynamics in one region often reverberate into others.
Our work, grounded in research and open dialogue, seeks to imagine new models of resolution. Drawing on international law, history, political science, and diplomacy, we provide a platform for collaborative inquiry and bold ideas that move beyond stalemate and reimagine solutions to the world's most intractable disputes.
Vision
We envision a world where people can thrive in peace and security, supported by a stable and just international order. In this world, solutions to conflicts are guided by knowledge, approached with respect, and collaboratively forged.
